Grandma's Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups of cooked rice
  • 1 cup of cooked milk
  • 2 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • 1 tbsp of butter
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 1/3 cup of rasins or dates

Preparation

Step 1

Combine rice, milk, eggs and sugar in top of double boiler.

Step 2

Cook over simmering water, stirring constantly, until mixture coats a metal spoon.

Step 3

Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla, and raisins.

Step 4

Pour into serving bowls and allow to stand, without stirring, for 30 minutes.

Step 5

Serve warm or chilled with cream.
