Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°.

Step 2

Sift flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla until completely incorporated. Add flour mixture in 3 additions; scraping down the bowl after each addition. Mix in chocolate chips.

Step 4

Either grease cookie sheets or cover in parchment paper.

Step 5

Roll into 1 inch balls, then press slightly onto baking sheet. Thickness may vary, depending on preference.

Step 6

Bake 8-10 minutes in preheated oven, watching carefully. Bake until bottoms of cookies just begins to turn golden.

Step 7

Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before placing on wire racks.
