Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 c up vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 350

Step 2

grease and flour two 9 inch rounds or 13x9x2 inch baking pan

Step 3

In large mixing bowl stir together first 6 ingredients(sugar-salt)

Step 4

add eggs, milk oil, and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes

Step 5

stir in boiling water. (batter will be thin)

Step 6

pour into prepared pans and bake for 35-40 minutes
If baking rounds allow to cool slightly before turning out onto wire rack to cool completely. If using rectangular pan allow to cool completely before icing
