Ingredients

  • 3 Heads Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 lb. Loaf Italian Bread
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) Butter - Softened
  • 1 Tbsp. Chopped Fresh Parsley (Optional)
  • 2 Tbsp. Grated Parmesan Cheese (Optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Slice the tops off the garlic heads so the tips of each clove is exposed. Place the heads on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil and wrap in foil. Bake about 35 minutes or until garlic is soft.

Step 2

Set the oven to 425. Slice the loaf in half horizontally and place cut sides up on a baking sheet.

Step 3

Squeeze the cloves from their skin into a medium bowl. Stir in the butter, parsley and parmesan cheese until well-blended and pasta-like. Spread onto cut sides of bread. Bake 10-12 minutes.
