Katie's Mandarin Salad

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 Tbsp and 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 small head of lettuce torn into bite dize pieces
  • 1/2 bunch of romaine lettuce torn in bite size pieces
  • 2 medium celery stalks chopped
  • 2 tsp thinly sliced green onion
  • 1 11oz can of nandarin orange slices
  • Dressing
  • 1/8 tsp tabasco
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Cook almonds and sugar over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is melted and almonds are coated. Cool and break.

Step 2

Prepare dressing: shake all ingredients in a tight container. Refrigerated until serving.

Step 3

Toss almonds, dressing, remaining ingredients in ziploc. Shake

Tossing in a ziploc bag makes clean up easy.
