Ingredients

1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup shortening (1/2 margarine or butter, softened), 2 eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt.

Preparation

Step 1

Mix sugar, shortening mix, eggs and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.

Step 2

Heat oven to 400 degrees f. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured cloth covered board. Place hand lightly on dough; trace around hand with pastry wheel. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until no indentation remains when touched, 6-8 minutes. Decorate as desired.
