  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 4-5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp flavoring - peppermint, vanilla butter, lemon, banana, etc.
  • Food coloring

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in saucepan over med heat
Add cream cheese, stir until softened and partly melted into butter

Step 2

Turn off heat. Add 4 cups powdered sugar to pan and stir to form soft dough

Step 3

Divide dough into 4 portions (or however many colors and flavors you want to make) Add 1/4 tsp flavoring to each portion of dough, stir well

Step 4

Color dough by adding few drops of food coloring to each portion of dough. Shape the candies into rounds of about 1/2 tsp each. Score with fork

Step 5

Dry on wax or parchment paper for a few hours until set. Store in sealed container in refrigerator

  • Eggs
  • Confectioner's sugar
  • Fresh lemon juice

METHOD

  1. Separate egg yolks and whites
  2. In a bowl, whisk egg whites
  3. Add confectioner's sugar
  4. Distribute on baking pan and flatten center lightly with a spoon
  5. Bake for 30 minutes at 250 degrees
  6. While that's baking, squeeze fresh lemon juice into a bowl
  7. Add egg yolks, sugar, and flour then whisk together
  8. Add butter and whisk again
  9. Take the merigues out of the oven once they're ready
  10. Spoon the filling into the center of the meringues
  11. Grate lemon rind and sprinkle the zest over the top of the pavlovas
  12. Serve!
