SLOW COOKER DOG FOOD

By

Easy way to supplement your pet's diet. I make a batch of food and freeze it in small batches. I alternate my slow cooker dog food with regular canned dog food and the dry dog food that they get every day.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 1 regular potato
  • Stalks from a head of brocolli
  • Stalks from a head of cauliflower
  • 1 apple
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp ground flax seed
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

DIRECTIONS:
Place the beef and turkey into the slow cooker.

Step 2

Using an electric hand blender, mix the eggs including the shells thoroughly. (The shells will break up into tiny pieces and help provide your pet with calcium from the shells.) Pour the mixture on top of the meat in the slow cooker.

Step 3

Add the spices to the slow cooker.

Step 4

Chop all the fruit/veggies into large chunks and add to the slow cooker.

Step 5

Turn the slow cooker on low and let it cook for 10 hours.

Step 6

Remove from heat and let slightly cool before mashing everything together in the pot.

Step 7

When the mixture has cooled sufficiently, divide it into containers that can be stored in the freezer.

Step 8

Thaw & serve with your pet's favourite dry food. Yummy!

I like to start start cooking the food at night and when I wake up in the morning... voila, it's done. My doggies love it! It's also a great way to use up the parts of the veggies that you would otherwise throw away.
