- 6 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp shortening
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- Cake Mix
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup melted shortening
- 1 cup peeled grated apple

Topping
Mix all ingredients together and set aside.
Cake mix
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg in mixing bowl.
Beat eggs, sour cream and melted shortening in a separate bowl.
Stir into dry ingredients, mixing gently until blended.
Stir in apples.
Spread into a 9" loose bottom round cake pan.
Sprinkle topping over cake mix.
Bake at 350F for 45 - 50 minutes.

Chocolaty Pear Loaf
Ingredients
- 150g / 3/4 cup sugar
- 150g / 2/3 cup softened butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp fresh yeast
- 180g / 1 1/2 cups flour
- 190g / 1 1/2 cups chocolate, melted
- 4 pears
Method
- Combine sugar, butter and eggs in bowl. Mix well.
- Add fresh yeast and flour and mix through.
- Pour in melted chocolate and fold into mixture.
- Peel 4 pears (or as many comfortably fit in your baking pan)
- Pour chocolate mixture into lined or greased baking loaf pan.
- Evenly space the pears in the pan, sitting upright.
- Bake at 350°F / 180°C for 35 minutes.
- Drizzle with more melted chocolate, and serve.
