Frogmore Stew

This is another recipe from Grandma Annie. There are no frogs involved- Frogmore is a small town in the Carolinas. An easy shrimp boil for large gatherings.

Ingredients

  • about 20 whole red potatoes
  • about 20 half ears of corn
  • a few pounds of creek shrimp
  • a couple pounds of sausage
  • Old Bay
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

Step 1

In an enormous pot, add water, spices and whole red potatoes. Bring to a boil.

Step 2

Add corn and more spices when the potatoes are starting to get soft, boil.

Step 3

Add chunks of sausage.

Step 4

When everything is done, add the shrimp, still in their shells. Add more old bay.

Step 5

When the shrimp is done, drain the water from the pot and lay the contents on a very large serving platter. Serve with cocktail or butter with *even more Old Bay.
