Ingredients

  • • 2 Apples- Cored & Chopped peeled, cored and cut into small chunks
  • • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • • 3 T Brown Sugar
  • • 1 tsp Vanilla (optional .. or try almond for an added nutty flavor)
  • • 3 Tblsp Butter- Cut into Pieces
  • • 1 Cup Steel Cut Oats (NOT instant or quick cook)
  • • 2 Cups Milk
  • • 1 Cups Water

Step 1

Spray the liner of your crock pot so the oatmeal doesn’t stick and burn overnight. Add all ingredients and give a nice stir. Cover and set on low overnight. I generally set mine at about 10:00 - 10:30 pm and it is ready about 7:00 am but each crockpot is different. You might want to try it on a weekend you don’t have to work to check out the timing for yours.

Next morning turn the pot off, stir and dish up your oatmeal to cool while you make your coffee and get ready for the day.
