Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 pounds of plums
  • 2 1/4 cups of sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Wash plums, remove the seeds. Put a scant 1/2 cup water and sugar in a large saucepan, bring to a boil when sugar is melted, add the plums, reduce heat and cook uncovered.

Step 2

If you are left with too much syrup after 25 minutes of cooking, remove plums from the pan with a slotted spoon, put them in a bowl and let the syrup reduce (evaporate) before pouring it over the plums. Serve cold.
