Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground sausage
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 C milk
  • 10 saltine crackers
  • salt and pepper
  • Bacon strips for the top of the loaf (about 4)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients, except for the bacon. Place in loaf pan. Top meat loaf with bacon strips. Bake at 350 degrees uncovered. Bacon should be golden brown when loaf is done.

Step 2

remove from oven and drain off excess fat. Let rest for about 5 minutes and then slice and serve. Baked potatoes make a nice addition to this meal.
