  • (6) Tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • (3) Cups of Quaker Oats (Traditional, NOT INSTANT)
  • 1/4 Cup of butter/margarine, melted
  • 1/2 Cup of milk
  • 1/2 Cup peanut butter
  • 1 Tablespoon of vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare counter, covering with wax paper (for cooling)

Step 2

On Medium Heat (Scale of 1-10, we use a 4), place ingredients in saucepan in the following order:

* butter, melt completely before adding next ingredient
*add sugar, cocoa, and milk, constantly stirring
*add peanut butter and vanilla
*keep stirring
*adjust heat to medium high, bringing to an easy boil
(3 minutes estimated time to bring to desired consistency and temperature)
*quickly remove from heat
KEEP STIRRING
*add oatmeal
KEEP STIRRING
Once mixed, use Tablespoon to measure cookie size, and drop onto wax paper for cooling.
Let cool for 1-2 Hours, or cheat and put in fridge

Step 3

Lick Spoon, Eat Cookies, and Enjoy!

For a shorter cooling time, line cookie sheets with wax paper and place formed cookies in fridge. Also, this recipe will probably need to be adjusted as you practice making cookies. We attempted this treat over ten times before an edible version was produced..(thus the nickname "pooh-pooh cookies)..
