Beef with macaronni shells & sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 package of macaronni shells
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cans tomatoe sauce
  • 2 Tbsp freshly grated garlic
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Add vegetable oil and shells into a large pot on low-medium heat. Fry shells until lightly browned.

Step 2

Add ground beef. Fry with shells until all beef is fully cooked. Mix in garlic, salt and pepper.

Step 3

Add diced tomatoes, tomatoe sauce, and 6 cups of water to pot. Bring to boil and add cheese. Let boil for 8-10 min or till shells have softened. Remove from heat & serve.

Shells will continue to soften after removed from heat. I stop boiling a couple of minutes before shells are fully cooked so they won't be soggy.
