Descale your water boiler and coffee maker
You know those little white flakes that float at the bottom of your electric kettle and coffee maker? Those are calcium deposits. Although they’re pretty much harmless to your health, they give your tea and coffee a slightly bitter, metallic taste and also ruin the inside of the machine.
So when you’re ready to descale, here’s how to do it:
Take 1 glass of white wine vinegar and 3 glasses of water, place inside the kettle or coffee maker and let sit for 15 minutes. When the time is up, switch the machine on. Once the water boils, you’re done! Throw out the vinegar water and rinse the machine out well with tap water until you can no longer smell the vinegar.
You can also do the same thing with baking soda by following the same process – it takes 4 tablespoons of baking soda for 3 glasses of water.
