Hello Kate @ Diethood, so tell us...

When did you begin your blog, and what inspired you to start it?

I started my food blog back in November of 2010, but after a few months, I had to stop due to my pregnancy. Once I had a perfect, healthy baby, I went back to my blog in August of 2012.

I was inspired by my own need to start sharing my creations. Armed with a passion for cooking, baking, food photography, entertaining, and all food-related subjects, I decided it was time to hang up my suit, put the apron on, and join the food blogging community.

Are you involved in the blogging community - how do you attract new readers?

I am very involved. I love to visit my fellow bloggers, see their beautiful and always delicious creations, and be inspired.

I'm not sure if I have the right answer, but I think readers find me mostly via Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc...

Who are your culinary influences?

Julia Child. I fell in love with her work when I was about 12 years old. I would watch reruns of her cooking show on PBS and always felt that I belonged right there with her.

If you could be a contestant or guest on any cooking show what show would you choose?

I want to be a guest on the Today Show! That would be an awesome experience!!

What is your earliest food memory?

My mom's butterfly cakes for our birthdays and my grandmother's fresh baked bread.

Being from Macedonia - what are your favorite Macedonian dishes?

I love our version of Moussaka which is a Meat and Potato Gratin. I also am crazy about all our baked goods; Kifli, Zelnik, Maznik, etc... Tavce Gravce (Baked Beans) is another favorite.

Is there any dish, ingredient or type of food you refuse to cook?

Yes. I don't think I could ever grab a live lobster and cook it. Or anything that is still moving. Lord, I would never eat again.

When you have a last minute get together, what are your go to dishes?

I go straight to the bread box, then turn left, grab a jar of Ajvar and spread it on said bread. Sprinkle some feta cheese on top and start to panic about the next 3 dishes. ;-)

Avocado Feta Salsa (SO GOOD!)

Lasagna Dip

Loaded Baked Potato Bites

Ajvar (Roasted Red Pepper Relish)

What are your goals for your blog? Where would you like to see it in the next year? Five years?

I want to continue blogging and I eventually want to make it a career. Initially, that was not what I wanted to do, but with time, and a few good offers later, I saw that there really was potential.

Anything else you would like to share?

I am just very thankful that I get to do what I love and I get to share it with SO many people day in and day out. It is an incredible feeling to get a comment, or an email, from a reader telling you that they just made your recipe and it was the most delicious thing they had ever tasted! I LOVE that!

Thank you Kate @ Diethood for answering our questions and see you soon!
