Hello Julee, so tell us...

Tell us a little bit about the different sections on Mommy's Memorandum.

Under recipes you'll find a tasty selection of easy to make entrees, desserts, snacks and more along with kitchen tips. There is also a section for travel that features hotels, dining and activities your family is sure to love. Reviews are the products that fit into my family's lifestyle.

Are you involved in the blogging community - how do you attract new readers?

I'm active on social media...reach out to me and let's get talking!

What inspired you to start your site?

My oldest son. He inspires me to create and put my best out there. He enjoys my cooking.

What advice would you give to someone who has to cook for a family of 6 like you do?

Make it simple. Prepare ahead. Find a couple of recipes you love creating and rotate those in weekly. Ask for input from your family members.

What is your earliest food memory?

My mother making giant pumpkin cookies for my Kindergarten class. I remember being mesmerized by her as she skillfully used licorice whips and Candy Korns. I was so proud of those cookies.

Do you have a secret ingredient, a product you use a lot that is unexpected or that helps you save time?

I love to bake with stoneware. It helps crisp things up and makes cooking a cinch!

Is there any dish, ingredient or type of food you refuse to cook? Or anything that you refuse to eat?

Our house lives by we'll try anything once and again just to be sure we liked/disliked it the first time!

What are your goals for your blog? Where would you like to see it in the next year? Five years?

I want to continue to grow my recipe file and learn more about food photography.

My worst food flop was...

By far my worst food flop was when I was friends with an Austrian Hockey Player. I wanted to impress him by creating a dessert from his home. I tried making this cake that had an almost meringue topping. The meringue turned plaster hard and when I served it he asked what it was. I told him my intent and he replied, "We don't have anything like this where I come from." I was so upset, but now we laugh about it.

Anything else you would like to share?

Food is many things to many people. At our house it is love. It's the glue that binds my family and creates memories.

Thank you Julee for answering our questions and see you soon!
