Green Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie

This strawberry breakfast smoothie is a fantastic way to incorporate greens into your plant based lifestyle. Leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and collards are packed full of nutrients that supply a wide range of vitamins and minerals. They also provide fibre, which is essential for optimal digestive health. If you’re new to green smoothies, spinach’s mild flavour is a great way to slowly ease into this routine. I also added camu camu berry powder to the smoothie. This superfood is a concentrated source of vitamin C providing 12 times the recommended daily intake (RDI) in 1 teaspoon.

Spinach is a pretty unbelievable food. It’s full of amazing vitamins and minerals. This leafy green is one of the best plant-based sources of iron and is often better assimilated compared to meat options for those dealing with anemia and digestive dysfunction. Iron improves oxygen distribution throughout the body and plays a vital role in energy production.
Strawberries get their ruby red colour from powerful antioxidants with anti-inflammatory action in the body. They’re a great source of manganese, an essential trace mineral, that works together with many other nutrients to complete bodily functions including cholesterol synthesis, cell protection, calcium absorption, and thyroid activity.
Hemp seeds are a great source of fibre and essential fatty acids that defend against inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. However, I like to add hemp seeds to bump up the amount of protein in a smoothie. Hemp seeds contain all 20 amino acids, including the 8 essential amino acids that our body cannot produce. You’ll receive 10g of protein in just 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds!
