Hello Raven, so tell us...

When did you begin your blog, and what inspired you to start it?

I started blogging in July 2010. I cannot really pinpoint a reason why I started blogging other than the fact that cooking has been such a large part of my life for so long. I thought to myself why not make an online cookbook? So began RavieNomNoms.

How many hours per week do you spend on your blog?

Depending on the week sometimes I spend 10-15 hours per week on the blog, not counting cook time.

Are you involved in the blogging community - how do you attract new readers?

I am involved with the blogging community. There are so many ways to connect. Social media is a very large outlet. I share via Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Google+ the most. Those seem to attract new people because people share your things and then others see it through shares.

What is your earliest food memory?

My earliest food memory is when I was little. I just always seem to remember my family having BBQs all the time with family and friends. I lived in the Midwest and having BBQs was a huge part of my childhood.

Which of your recipes would you suggest to readers for a perfect meal?

There are too many to pick from! I could never pick a perfect meal, I love trying new things.

If you could be a contestant or guest on any cooking show what show would you choose?

I would love to meet Ree Drummond of the Pioneer Woman. I think that would be the show I would want to go on. Or Not My Mama's Cooking with Bobby Deen.

Is there any dish, ingredient or type of food you refuse to cook?

I really do not like anchovies. Ick!

Who are your culinary idols?

My mother is my culinary idol. She bakes for a living and gave me my inspiration to do my own thing with cooking.

What are your goals for your blog? Where would you like to see it in the next year? Five years?

My main goal for my blog is to have fun and for others to enjoy what they are reading. Seems like a simple goal, but my focus is for people to enjoy what they are reading and cooking.

Anything else you would like to share?

I heart Rainbow Sprinkle Donuts. I am a Penn Stater. I am a dancer in a professional modern company. And I love life.

Thank you Raven for answering our questions and see you soon!
