Ellu Poornam: Dry roast sesame seeds
- 1. For Ellu Poornam:
- Sesame seeds (black or white) - 1 cup...If black, roast and rub it in a cloth and deskin it.
- Jaggery - 1 1/2 cup
- Elachi - 1 teaspoon
- 2. For Ulunthu poornam
- Vadai maavu- Made with soaked urad dal, chillies, salt ground to a fine paste.
- Oil, mustard seeds, split urad dal, curry leaves for sauteeing.
- 3. For kolukkattai:
- Raw rice: rinsed in water and dried...Grind it.
- Water.
- Salt and gingely Oil.

This kolukkattai is made for Vinayagar Chaturthi
- 1. For poornam:
- Chana dal - 1 cup
- Jaggery - 3/4 cup
- Shredded coconut - 1/4 cup
- Elachi - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ghee - 1 tablespoon
- 2. For kolukkattai:
- Raw rice: rinsed in water and dried...Grind it.
- Water.
- Salt and gingely Oil.
Thengai poornam

- 1. For Thengai poornam:
- Shredded coconut - 1 cup
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup
- Ghee - 1 teaspoon
- Elachi - 1 teaspoon

- Chana dal - 1 cup
- or Chana dal 1/2 cup and Moong dhal 1/2 cup
- Jaggery - 1 cup
- cashew nuts - 1/2 cup

Soak urad dal in just enough water; Grind it into a batter of medium consistency
- Urad dal - 1 cup.
- Rice flour - 1/4 cup.
- Shredded coconut - 1 cup.
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup.
- Ghee - 1 teaspoon.
- Elachi -1 teaspoon.
- oil - for frying.
Mysorepaku

In a pan start frying the flour in 1/2 the amount of ghee
- Kadalai mavu or bengal gram flour -1 cup.
- Sugar - 3 cups.
- Ghee - 3 cups.
Sweet Potato Halwa

- Sweet potato - 2 medium sized.
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup.
- Ghee - 1 tablespoon.

- Jack fruit - 10 pods.
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup.
