Secret beauty tips for smokers
We all agree that smoking is bad for your health. But in addition to damaging your lungs and respiratory system, it's also bad for your looks! Ideally you should try to quit smoking, but if you've already tried several times and can't seem to manage, here are the ultimate beauty tricks that you should know.
1 – Yellow teeth
Yellow teeth are collateral damage when it comes to smoking. They're the most visible side effect, along with smoky breath and damage to your gums and enamel. So here's a tip on how to get your pearly whites extra sparkling: teeth whitening strips. Apply them regularly and you'll get a Hollywood-style smile. If you can't find them, you can also use whitening toothpaste or baking soda applied directly to your toothbrush once a week.
2 – Grey, dull skin
Smoking can cause your skin to look grey and dull, because of a lack of vitamin C. To remedy this colorless situation, try eating bright, vitamin C-rich foods like blueberries, raspberries, red peppers and kiwis. Also be sure to moisturize your skin daily, and to use an anti-aging cream or serum to counteract the early onset of wrinkles.
3 – Lips
Puffing on a cigarette all day means that your lips are more likely to crack, age and wrinkle early. Once a week, make a gentle DIY lip scrub by combining a teaspoon of white sugar with a teaspoon of honey, and rub onto your lips. Make sure to apply a nourishing lip balm throughout the day and right before going to bed, rubbing well to make sure it gets fully absorbed.
