Skin problems affect us all, young and old, but sometimes the simplest remedies are the best...

Very few of us don't suffer from acne and other skin conditions at some point during our life, and unfortunately nobody has invented a magical cure for perfect skin yet.

The good news is that there are a number of healthy and natural ways that you can help your skin, including super simple remedies that you can find right in your home, like the tomato.

This popular fruit is very high in vitamins A, B6, E, K and C : vitamins that are essential to healthy body and skin function. It also contains lycopene, which attacks free radicals, and acts as an anti-inflammatory. Getting lots of tomato into your diet is a good start, but if you have oily-tpo-combination and acne prone skin, applying it directly to your face can work wonders!

For the most simple solution, just cut thick slices of fresh tomato, and massage onto your face, emphasizing the most inflammed or affected areas.

After 2-3 minutes, rinse with cold water and apply your normal moisturiser.

Another option is to make a deep treatment mask.

Cut an X into the top of two tomatoes, then submerge them in boiling water for 2 minutes. Take them out, and when they have cooled, peel them (this should be easy).

Discard the peel and crush the flesh into a paste. Simply apply this paste to your face for up to an hour, then rinse and moisturise as normal.

What do you think of tomato as a beauty treatment? Does it work for you?
