7 Knife Mistakes You Are Almost Certainly Making

Storing improperly

How you store your knives is one of the best indicators of how long they will stay in good condition. Throwing them loose in a drawer is the worst thing you can do, as they will rattle together and become dull and chipped quickly. If for safety reasons (to keep them away from little fingers) you need to store them in a drawer, pop them back into their original foam mold. Knife blocks are a good option, as long as you take care to press against the blunt edge of the blade when putting them in and taking them out of their slots. The best option? A magnetic board. Not only do your knives look cool, but they are out of harm's way and won't get dull or chipped.
