Honey Garlic Meatballs

In a medium saucepan, combine the squished garlic, 1/2 cup (125 mL) of the water, the ketchup, honey and soy sauce
- 6 cloves garlic, squished or finely chopped
- ¾ cup (175 mL) water (divided)
- ½ cup (125 mL) ketchup
- ½ cup (125 mL) honey
- ¼ cup (60 mL) soy sauce
- 1 lb (450 g) prepared frozen meatballs (or homemade)
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) cornstarch
Mexican Roll Ups

Simple and perfect for school lunches!
- ½ cup (125 mL) cream cheese, softened (½ a 250-g package)
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) salsa
- ½ cup (125 mL) shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 large (10 in/25 cm) tortillas
- Your choice of additional fillings (chopped veggies, chicken, ham, canned beans, corn niblets)
Banana Bread

- 3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to 3/4 cup)

STEP 1 Set a large pot of salted water to boil
- Coarse salt and ground pepper
- 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan, plus more for serving
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 pound ground beef chuck
- 1/4 cup plain dried breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes in puree
- 3/4 pound spaghetti

Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C)
- 2 quarts canola oil for frying
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 (16 ounce) jar pizza sauce
- 1 (8 ounce) package sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (14 ounce) package egg roll wrappers

- 2 heads savoy cabbages or green cabbage, (each 2lb/1 kg)
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
- 2 large white onions, sliced
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) caraway seeds, crushed
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) packed brown sugar
- 2 cans (each 28 oz/796 mL) crushed tomatoes
- Filling:
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
- 3 onions, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) dried thyme
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) long-grain rice
- 1-1/4 cups (300 mL) sodium-reduced chicken stock
- 1-1/2 lb (680 g) lean ground pork or lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) chopped fresh dill, (or 1 tsp/5 mL dried dillweed)
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 3/4 tsp (4 mL) salt
- 3/4 tsp (4 mL) pepper
