Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lbs thin strips of lamb cut from the leg
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 level teaspoons of ground allspice
  • 2 or 3 generous pinches of cinnamon (for sweet potatoes)
  • 2 tablespoons walnut oil
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Peel the sweet potatoes and cut into small pieces. Boil in salted water. At the end of cooking (just 10 min), drain and mash with a potato masher and then return to pot, add pinches of cinnamon and dry on high heat.

Step 2

Meanwhile, heat the walnut oil in a skillet and brown the lamb and minced red onion. Add the all spice, salt and cumin.
Sauté 5 minutes, then add the honey and continue cooking for another 5 min.
- Remove from heat and give two turns of pepper mill.
- Arrange sweet potatoes in a circle and top with lamb with cumin. Serve immediately.
