  • 1 1/4 c all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c pecans, chopped
  • 1 shot of bourbon
  • 2 sprigs of mint (chop leaves)
  • 1/3 c Mint Julep Sugar
  • 2 1/4 TBS baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c cold butter, cubed
  • 1 TBS Bourbon Barrel Foods' Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 c 2% milk

Step 1

Heat oven to 375. In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, and mint. Soak the pecans in the bourbon and set aside. With two knives, combine the cold butter into the flour mixture. Add milk and vanilla into the pecan mixture. Stir the pecans into the dry ingredients. Knead on a floured surface and make the dough into a circle. Sprinkle with Mint Julep Sugar. Bake for 15 minutes. Cut out triangle shapes, and bake the dough again for 10-15 minutes.
