On November 2nd, Italians celebrate Commemorazione Dei Defunti (All Souls Day), a day in which they remember deceased family members. Traditionally, families make Ossa dei Morti (Bones of the Dead) which are usually enjoyed by children.
They're supposed to represent bones (which might sound pretty mobid!) but they're deliciously chewy and gooey, bringing together flavors of chesnut, almond, cloves, and cinnamon — a wholesome mix of autumnal spices.
