Crumble with Leftover Cookies

After Christmas, a cookie exchange or any time, you might find yourself with more cookies than you can eat. Especially when they start to dry out, a fruit crumble is a great idea to use them up. It's perfect if you also have a few apples that are no longer very fresh.

Ingredients (for one baking dish):

  • 4 apples
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup cookies

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Peel the apples and cut them into cubes. Mix the sugar with the apples and place them in a greased baking dish.
  3. Dot the fruit with small pieces of butter.
  4. Crumble the cookies and sprinkle them over the fruit.
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes.

Tip: If desired, you can add a splash of Amaretto or a pinch of cinnamon over the apples before baking.
