Garlic butter fried rice takes a humble staple and turns it into something luxurious with just a few ingredients. Golden, crispy garlic infuses every bite, while melted butter gives the rice a rich, comforting flavor that feels gourmet despite its simplicity. It’s perfect on its own as a quick meal or served alongside grilled meats, stir-fried veggies, or tofu. 

Ingredients (for 4 servings):

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups cooked white rice (day-old works best)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium heat and melt the butter.
  2. Add the sliced garlic and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 1–2 min. Remove half of the garlic and set it aside for topping.
  3. Add the rice to the pan, breaking up clumps with a spatula, and stir-fry until heated through and lightly toasted, about 5–6 min.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, season with salt and black pepper, and mix well.
  5. Serve hot, topped with the reserved crispy garlic and fresh green onions.
