Easy Halloween Party Treats That Are Scary Good

,
Gourmandize

These devilish eggs add a spooky twist to a classic party snack. A slice of olive turns each into a "monster eye," making them creepy enough for Halloween but still crowd-pleasingly delicious. Creamy, tangy, and just a little eerie, they disappear fast.

Ingredients (for 6–8 servings):

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp white vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Red gel food coloring (optional)
  • 6 black olives, sliced into rounds

Instructions:

  1. Hard-boil eggs by placing them in a saucepan with water. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from the heat. Let sit for 10–12 min., then transfer to an ice bath.
  2. Peel eggs and slice them in half. Remove yolks and mash with mayo, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spoon or pipe the filling into the whites. Add a drop of red gel food coloring for a bloodshot effect (optional).
  4. Top each egg with an olive slice to create an "eyeball."
  5. Chill until ready to serve.
