These tender vanilla crescent cookies are nutty, buttery, and finished with a delicate coating of vanilla sugar. A Czech holiday tradition, they’re as beautiful as they are delicious.
Ingredients (makes 3 dozen):
1 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 cups flour
1 cup ground walnuts
Vanilla sugar or powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cream butter and sugar. Mix in flour and nuts.
Shape into crescents and place on a baking sheet.
Bake 12–15 minutes. Roll warm cookies in vanilla sugar.
