Originating from Siena, these chewy almond cookies are naturally gluten-free and have a snowy, crinkled appearance. Made with almond flour and flavored with orange zest, they’re a delicate, sweet finish to any Christmas feast.
Ingredients (makes 18–20):
2 cups almond flour
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp orange zest
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp almond extract
Extra powdered sugar for coating
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325°F.
Mix almond flour, sugar, and zest. Stir in lightly beaten egg whites and extract to form a sticky dough.
Shape into ovals, coat in powdered sugar, and place on lined baking sheet.
