These cookies are rich with butter and almonds, and coated in a generous layer of powdered sugar. Traditionally served during holidays and weddings, they’re crumbly, sweet, and irresistible.
Ingredients (makes 2 dozen):
1 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 cup finely chopped almonds
Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cream butter and sugar, then beat in the yolk and vanilla.
Stir in flour and almonds. Shape into crescents.
Bake 15–18 minutes. Cool slightly, then roll in powdered sugar.
