Get rid of calluses

If small callused areas have begun to form, you can use peeling and exfoliating creams to gently treat them. Mild fruit acids, sea salt, or a pumice stone are also good options to use for this.

If the calluses are thicker, special callus treatments might be necessary, preferably after exfoliation, peeling, or a foot bath so that the skin is softened. But be careful: never try to snip away your calluses with scissors! Also use caution when using any kind of file to rub your skin. Even the smallest injury on the skin surface can expose you to bacteria.
