Leaving It Out At Room Temperature

Thawing meat at room temperature can be slightly more efficient than in the fridge, but it's also slightly more dangerous. Harmful bacteria like to grow at temperatures between 40°F and 140°F — and a comfortable room temperature, 70°F, sits right in the middle of that. You'll have to be sure to cook your meat thoroughly to kill off any potential bacteria.
