As with many strange food trends, bubble waffles has even stranger beginnings. One story claims that they were invented after a shop owner received a shipment of broken eggs. Rather than toss them, he whipped them into an eggy batter and poured them into bubblewrap-like waffle molds — thus the egg waffle was born!
