Requesting dozens of custom changes to your meal

Unless you have very strict dietary requirements (aka life-threatening allergies or medical conditions), try to refrain from customizing your meals from A to Z when eating out. Most restaurants allow you to swap sides with no problem and ask for sauces on the side, but don't ask them to cook you something that's not on the menu or expect them to make multiple changes to your dish. Some restaurants will go above and beyond to accommodate their customers, but you also have to respect that it can complicate the kitchen staff's system and cause delays in the service.
