Vasilopita - Greece

Vasilopita is a famous Greek New Year's cake served at midnight to welcome a fresh start. Prepared with orange zest for flavor, the top of the cake is often decorated with the year and a coin is traditionally inserted into the base of the cake once it is cooked. Whoever finds the coin in their slice of vasilopita is said to have good luck for the rest of the year.
