Paella - Spain

Paella has its origins in the region of Valencia, but today it's become one of the most popular dishes worldwide. While we tend to associate paella with seafood, the original paella valenciana is actually made with rabbit, chicken and sometimes duck. Paella de marisco is the seafood version, which uses mostly shellfish. And nowadays, you can also find paella mixta, which combines seafood with meats and sausages.

Where to eat: If you're looking for a truly authentic version, you can't go wrong with the many paella restaurants located around Valencia's central market. Not only are the ingredients super fresh (directly from the market), but also these restaurants specialize in making the famous dish all day long.
