French Onion Soup

An all-time favorite, French onion soup is decadent, delicious, and deceptively easy to make. Onions are often already hanging around the kitchen, but are cheap and easy to get your hands on if not. Add chunks of stale baguette and a little cheese to the mix, and you'll have yourself a real crowd-pleaser. Everyone loves a cheap yet cheerful dish! Get the recipe here.

Good to know: You can use Comte, Emmental, or mozzarella cheese, but if you can get your hands on some Gruyere cheese, that works best (and is authentically French!).
