Chocolate Mug Cake

Craving a quick chocolate fix? This rich, gooey chocolate mug cake comes together in just minutes using simple pantry staples. Perfectly portioned for one, it’s the ultimate single-serve dessert for satisfying your sweet tooth without sharing! With minimal effort and maximum chocolatey goodness, it’s indulgence made easy!

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp milk (or non-dairy alternative)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chocolate chips or a dollop of peanut butter for extra indulgence

Instructions:

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt with a fork until well combined.
  2. Add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until you have a smooth batter, ensuring there are no lumps.
  3. If using chocolate chips or peanut butter, gently stir them into the batter or drop them in the center for a melty surprise.
  4. Place the mug in the microwave and cook on high for 60–90 seconds. Check after 60 seconds; the top should look set but still slightly soft in the center. Avoid overcooking to keep it moist.
  5. Let the mug cake cool for 1–2 min. before digging in. Optionally, top with whipped cream, a scoop of ice cream, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar for an extra treat.
