This holiday classic gets a slow cooker upgrade for easy prep and perfect texture. Fresh or frozen green beans hold their bite while the creamy mushroom sauce thickens slowly as it cooks. Top with crispy onions before serving for a nostalgic side everyone will love.
Ingredients (for 6–8 servings):
1½ lbs green beans (fresh or frozen), trimmed
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
½ cup milk
½ tsp garlic powder
1½ cups crispy fried onions
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Combine green beans, soup, mushrooms, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the slow cooker.
Stir well, then cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours.
Stir again before serving and top with fried onions.
For extra crunch, briefly broil the onions separately before garnishing.
