Ingredients (serves 8):
2 lbs russet potatoes, thinly sliced
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F and butter a 9x13-inch dish.
In a saucepan, melt butter, stir in flour, cook 1 minute.
Whisk in milk, cook until thick, then stir in garlic and cheese.
Layer half the potatoes, pour half the sauce, repeat layers.
Cover with foil and bake 40 minutes, uncover and bake 20 more.
