A healthier take on the classic dessert, this apple crisp uses dates for both the filling and the topping. The natural sweetness pairs perfectly with tart apples and warm cinnamon spice. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla yogurt or dairy-free ice cream.

Ingredients (for 6 servings):
Filling:

  • 4 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Topping:

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Blend dates, water, and cinnamon into a thick paste. Toss with sliced apples and place in a baking dish.
  3. Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle over apples.
