Good, authentic Chinese restaurants in Mississippi are few and far between. Fortunately, there is one that meets the criteria in Jackson, and it truly is the best in the state. Attached to an oriental supermarket, Mr. Chen's has a typical nonfussy yet clean interior and a pretty expansive menu with decent prices. Regular diners especially love the cheap lunch specials (the most expensive option caps off at $7.50) and the combination of both Americanized and traditional Chinese dishes. The portions are huge, so plan to eat half and take the rest home.
