All-Purpose Flour

If you need to find a substitute for all-purpose flour, you can turn to other types of flour, depending on the type of recipe. For general use recipes like breading meat, you can use 70 grams bread flour + 60 grams cake flour for 1 cup of all-purpose flour. For cakes, pies and pastries, simply use 130 grams cake flour for 1 cup of all-purpose flour. And for all kinds of breads, use 130 grams bread flour for 1 cup of all-purpose flour. To thicken sauces, you can sub 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch or arrowroot for 1 tbsp all-purpose flour.
