The TRUTH about forgetting to take The Pill
Everybody who has been on the Pill has can relate- you are halfway through your day, or even wake up the next morning and suddenly realize that you forgot a crucial step in your day- taking your Pill!
You aren't alone. French gynocologist Syvain Mimoun has just released the results of an enormous study about how and why women forget to take the pill.
Called "Millennials and contraception— Why do women forget to take the pill?", the study included more than 4500 women from from all over the world, between the ages of 21 and 29.
It turns out that that forgetting to take the pill is extremely common, with around 2 women out of 5 in the study admitting to have forgotten to take it in the previous month.
The reasons for the forgetfulness? Stress, job changes, a new diet or a new guy. Basically, big changes in lifestyle make it very difficult to remember!
While it is reassuring to know that we aren't alone, the study does raise an interesting question: rather than automatically prescribing the pill to young women, would it not be better to propose other forms of contraception?
