The pill provides a variety of health benefits such as reducing hormonal acne, regulating your periods, and (of course) preventing pregnancy. However, oral contraceptives do not come without their pesky side effects, ranging from mood swings to nausea.

Most women believe that birth control pills cause weight change, but the scientific evidence seems to indicate otherwise.
