The culprit: Lactose intolerance

This is one food woe that is usually hereditary and often develops during adolescence or adulthood. It is a condition in which the body has a hard time digesting dairy products, specifically those that contain lactose, such as milk and cheese. Side effects can include bloating, gas, cramps, diarrhea and sometimes vomiting. This is no fun, especially for cheese-lovers, and it also eliminates a major source of calcium in the diet.
